We're Primer and we have a simple mission: to help professionals in financial research embrace AI and ride the next wave of disruption.

It's still worth saying out loud: the advances in AI over the past 12-24 months have been huge. Tech giants, like Meta and Google, and well-resourced newcomers, like OpenAI and Anthropic, are continuing to one-up each other and push the boundaries of LLMs, all to the benefit of application builders. The implications are powerful - we're moving beyond enhanced productivity and towards whole new ways of working.

For investors and financial analysts, there's a huge opportunity to use AI to make the job less about trawling documents and mechanical work, and more about creativity and deep thought. But to build something that’s robust and consistent by yourself is complex, and crucially it takes time away from finding great investment ideas.

We're a team with decades of experience across both software engineering and financial research. We spend our time thinking about which parts of a research workflow can benefit the most from AI and then building out our platform to make it a reality.

There's a lot we want to achieve, but for now we have a clear focus: to use AI to cut through the noise of company reporting.

Our platform can deliver sophisticated company analysis the moment earnings are released, for every company you track. With AI, we incorporate more context for richer analysis and we surface tone and sentiment in a much more meaningful and objective way.
